The Walshes - Crystal Beach, TX
It is no secret that I love intimate, personalized weddings, so while I know that 2020 has been on giant stress ball of uncertainty, these paired down weddings are giving me life! I can say with 100% certainty, that Dan and Mandi wouldn’t change one thing about their small beach wedding, even if it was Plan C.
Mandi and Dan were supposed to have a big wedding in Waco in May 2020. As things progressed here in Texas, they pushed their wedding to December, still intending to keep their wedding shindig plans the same. As things progressed even further and we all realized that life wasn’t getting back to normal anytime soon, they decided to nix the whole thing and keep it simple by taking 12 family members down to a Galveston-area beach house in September to get married on their dating anniversary! Their invitation and koozies might not be accurate anymore but that just adds to the charm of their story about how love conquers all.
Mandi did her own hair and make-up (which I need her to give me lessons on because she was FLAWLESS), her sister-in-law handled the florals, their cake came from Whole Foods and the DJ was an iPhone. We wrapped photos just moments before the rain moved in and the whole crew changed back into their chill clothes after dinner so that they could dance and relax in the most perfect way. Oh and my six-month-old daughter handled the five hour drive like a champ AND napped at the beach house during the wedding without any issues. It was a magical day, indeed!
