Fall Family Sessions
Family Sessions. Is there anything more stressful than putting your kids in clothes they can’t get dirty and trying to bribe them to smile for a camera? I GET it. The stakes feel high and, ultimately, you have very little control over how these tiny humans choose to behave for the next 20-45 minutes. But I’m here to tell you - I don't want you to stress. I don’t want you to worry about your kids being perfect. Because, well, they aren’t perfect!
They are funny and wild and shy and weird and loud and quiet and their imperfection is wonderful! And I want to show them off exactly as they are!
Your 1-3 year old might have a meltdown and will probably refuse to smile. Your 12-15 year old will probably act too cool. But that is 100% okay because that is what they are like at this point in time. And family photos SHOULD be memories of your life exactly how it is in that moment - not some manicured, fake snapshot of a life you can only pretend to have in 5 minute increments.
I’m going to make fart jokes and silly faces and ask them questions about their favorite toys. We WILL get a photo of everyone smiling at the camera (or at least everyone looking at the camera:). But much, much more importantly - we are going to get many, many photos of tickling and running and jumping and laughing and maybe some tears and tantrums because that is TRULY living. Photos of being a real life family. And those are the ones you will look at and laugh at together as a family in 15 years.
And want to know another reason to not stress? All of these sessions below (except for 2) were only 20 minutes long and each family received a minimum of 40 images. And I’d bet you that at least 1/4 of these parents left thinking that their kids didn't cooperate well enough to get anything good. And they were ALL wrong. Go ahead and take a look - these 2020 fall families were a highlight of my year!
